Age of Empires Three Question?

I have all the expansions of age of empires three. Recently i bought the asian dynasties. In the campaign, it is almost impossible to beat because the opponent keeps on making like 60 villagers for some reason. I always find the enemy explorer dead as soon as the game starts. DI have beat the same campaign before on the origianl game and never had this problem. does anyone know what is going on?
